Sugaroom

Sugaroom

The look: Gigantic glass doors divide the indoor and outdoor patrons who share the spectacular harbour view. This enticing water front bar and restaurant is located on the historical CSR sugar refinery site and boasts outside umbrella’s and a line of chocolate-coloured cushioned indoor sofas.
The soundtrack: There’s some great dance tunes and subtle background lounge music.
Signature drink: The refreshing Pimm’s No. 1, ($15) with dry ginger ale and lemonade, infused with fresh orange, lemon, mint and cucumber, served over crushed ice. Bar snacks: Traditional foodies can hoe into the marinated olives ($6) infused on site with garlic, lemons and artichoke and the hand cut potato chips with aioli ($6). For something daringly different try the Rillette of Wild Hare with sourdough ($16).
Best for: Quietly glamorous pre-dinner drinks. Want a party atmosphere? Frequent on busy Saturday nights.
Wow factor: you can’t beat this fantastic waterfront location to watch the spectacular harbour sunset.
If this bar were an animal it would be: A happy yet stylish tropical fish with a great personality.
