The look: This spacious haven provides an enticing liquid refuge from the bustling city streets. The ground floor Aurora Bar and second floor Aurora Lounge are filled with colourful checkered walls, large, comfy lounges, massive bay windows and friendly faces.
The soundtrack: DJ’s spinning funky jazz beats.
Signature drink: The sweetly refreshing Aurora chi ($16) is a mix of muddled kiwifruit, sugar syrup, 42 Below kiwifruit vodka, vanilla schnapps and chi mineral water, served in a martini glass.
The bar snacks: Order the Aurora plate to share ($25), overflowing with grilled tuna skewers, chipolatas, chilli and lime seared scallops, meatballs, cheese fondue, vege’s and chunks of bread.
Best for: A stylish meeting place to kick off Friday night drinks with mates. Expect to mix with celebrating CBD suits from local finance, law and recruitment firms.
Wow factor: A menu full of delicious and reasonably priced reasons why this CBD bar and lounge won the AHA award for best casual dining 2007.
