Roxanne Parlour

Getting there: Located off Little Bourke Street in one of those quintessential dodgy alleys (no offence, Club X), Roxanne is well hidden at the top of three flights of stairs (or one nerve-wracking elevator ride).
The Look: Red, red and more red in keeping with its quasi-burlesque vibe. Roxanne is also pretty expansive boasting two bandrooms, each with a bar and dancefloor, plus a plusher VIP lounge adorned with flocked wallpaper and chandeliers.
To drink: A straightforward selection of beers, wines and spirits, though a cocktail list is in the works.
To eat: You’ve got Chinatown on your doorstep, so eat first or save it for a late-night supper.
Bar soundtrack: Roxanne is first and foremost a performance venue hosting everything from underground DJs to indie bands.
The Crowd: Generation MY – MySpace to be precise – which is where you’ll find all the upcoming gigs.
Best for: Partying way past bedtime. Roxanne is licensed til 5am.
