Electric Ladyland

The look: A wide barreled staircase leads to Electric Ladyland – the kind of super-sized loft space most city dwellers would kill for. In fact, everything feels bigger – from the arched windows to the artwork, from the lampshades to the scarlet leather sofas. Even the little girls’ room is on the large side and boasts its own elongated lounge.
To drink: The list keeps it short, sweet and easy to swallow. There are five whites and reds by the glass or bottle, a small selection of bubbles and a handful beers on tap like Beez Neez and Asahi. The cocktails ($18-$25 each) are also pretty straightforward, though the bartenders do take requests.
To eat: Catering is available by arrangement.
The crowd: Not exactly nightlife neophytes; probably early-to-mid 20s.
Best for: Bigger group gatherings. Electric Ladyland is easy to find, easy to get to and provides room to move. A 3am licence also allows ample time for late-arrivals to show.
