Collins Quarter
The Look: Encompassing a number of different zones, levels and entrances, Collins Quarter can accommodate a variety of drinking occasions. For starters, there’s the English tavern area with deep-set, secluded booths plus, a plush cocktail lounge called RA.
The great outdoors: In between it all sits an unexpected fresh-air oasis called the Magnolia courtyard which boasts handy access to two separate bars.
To drink: Collins Quarter offers a varied but not overwhelming range of local and imported wines, a decent Scotch list and a refreshing selection of house cocktails. Try a Cool on Collins ($15) featuring Hendricks Gin, Pimms, Ginger Beer and cucumber.
To eat: Nibbles and more substantial eats with an elegant bent like the chicken liver parfait with drunken cherries and crostini ($16). The crowd: Given its top end of town location you can anticipate good corporate patronage, especially around quittin’ time.
Best for: Those indecisive evenings. Dinner or drinks? Champers or pints? Either way, you’re sorted.
